Day 3: Struisbaai to De Mond (14km/8.6m)

Day 3 commences by walking from base camp in Struisbaai down to the picturesque Struisbaai Fishermans harbour to see if Parrie, the famous Stingray, is in the vicinity,

Once we have picked up the boardwalk we continue on what is termed “The longest continuous stretch of white sand” in the Southern Hemisphere, 14 kilometers of pristine white beach.

We pass Langezandt on our left a destination with traditional fishermen’s architecture and experience a number of birds along the way until we reach De Mond Nature Reserve which lies at the mouth of the Heuningnes River.  Here we explore the river and coastal dunes followed by a  picnic lunch under the milkwood trees.

We will be transported back to our base camp in Struisbaai to enjoy a leisurely afternoon.

Day 3’s walk will be followed by dinner – restaurant/base-camp
